Database Engineer – €50.000

This role presents an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly expanding global Software Development company, operating in a Hybrid office environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, testing, automation, and maintenance of the entire database stack for our suite of products. Given the exceptional performance requirements and complex design considerations, achieving optimal performance, reliability, and availability is paramount.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with developers in the design and optimization of various data aspects for our products.
• Take ownership and lead efforts related to all databases.
• Install, maintain, monitor performance, and optimize databases.
• Contribute to architecture and design teams for new deployments.
• Ensure database availability, reliability, and implement proper disaster recovery procedures.
• Deploy proof of concept (PoC) for new technologies.
• Assist in creating and maintaining high-quality documentation.
• Possess a deep understanding of the data and provide assistance in optimizing queries and schema.
• Mentor and coordinate with team members to facilitate effective data access.

Requirements:

• University degree or equivalent (Candidates with exceptional work experience and a positive attitude will also be considered).
• A strong passion for building and designing high-quality products.
• Enthusiasm for Linux, databases, and open-source software.
• Demonstrated willingness to continuously learn and explore new technologies.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with various teams to achieve common goals.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects concurrently.
• Proficient in MySQL and/or PostgreSQL administration.
• Strong command of SQL querying and stored procedures.
• Good knowledge of a scripting language (such as PHP, Python).
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in English (spoken and written).
