We are currently seeking a talented Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join the Corporate IT team of a leading financial institution. As an SRE, you will play a crucial role in designing, installing, and maintaining the bank’s Corporate IT infrastructure and services to ensure optimal performance and adherence to high-quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in VMware vCenter, ESXi, vROps, backup technologies, SAN technologies, ticketing systems, monitoring software, virtual desktop environments, MS technologies, and Azure knowledge.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate actively in the design, setup, and configuration process for introducing new systems and infrastructure-related projects.
- Maintain and compile procedures and documentation for all systems under the responsibility of the Corporate IT team.
- Install and maintain up-to-date operational system software, patch levels, firmware, drivers, and related services in line with the patch management lifecycle.
- Configure and customize software based on specific requirements.
- Provide support to other technical staff in account management, disk space management, backups, baseline security administration, system feature testing, and other systems administration activities.
- Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot systems and services to ensure optimal uptime.
- Produce and maintain accurate documentation describing hardware setups, diagrams, operational procedures, and inventory management.
- Suggest and promote system changes in accordance with company policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Engage in capacity planning and monitor usage reports.
- Recommend alternatives for infrastructure reconfiguration, including capacity replacements or additions.
- Proactively review and monitor service indicators to ensure adherence to agreed-upon service levels.
- Interact with software and hardware maintenance providers to ensure adequate support levels.
- Report and respond to critical security events, taking corrective measures as per defined security policies and procedures.
- Assume responsibility for the implementation, administration, monitoring, and support of switches, firewalls, and other network appliances.
- Participate in an ‘On Call’ roster to support off-hours and weekend activities.
- Stay updated with the latest technological advances relevant to the role.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Strong knowledge of VMware vCenter, ESXi, vROps.
- Experience with backup technologies, such as Veeam.
- Solid understanding of SAN technologies, such as Pure, HPE.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems, such as Jira.
- Experience with monitoring software, such as Zabbix, PRTG.
- Proficiency in virtual desktop environments.
- Networking knowledge, including switches, VPN concentrators, firewalls, IDS/IPS, is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of MS Technologies, such as OS – Server 2016, 2019, Windows 10, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, DFS, Certificate Management, MS Exchange, SCCM.
- Familiarity with Azure knowledge, including SAML, Azure AD, storage accounts, networking, tenant administration, etc.
- Understanding of Azure AD Connect, Azure Information Protection, and Azure Virtual Desktop is a plus.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
