We are looking for an Android developer responsible for the development and maintenance of applications aimed at Android devices. This is an opportunity for returners to up-skill in current and emerging technologies, refamiliarize themselves with current industry best practices, and enhance their technical knowledge on deployments with the clients.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain high-performance, reusable, and reliable Java code.
- Contribute technical ideas and suggestions to enhance the direction of the product.
- Ensure the best possible performance and responsiveness of the applications.
- Work within an agile team (daily standups, weekly planning meetings).
- Maintain build systems and write unit tests.
- Review analytics and performance metrics to draw conclusions and drive change.
Experience
- Product-focused Android application development experience.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services.
- Advanced Android SDK / Kotlin skills.
- Strong knowledge of Android API capabilities at different levels, framework components, and lifecycles.
- Good understanding of design patterns & Object Orientated Programming.
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
