We’re working with a company in the telecom/infra space looking to add an IP Network Engineer to their team, focused on building and maintaining reliable, secure network infrastructure.
The role is hands-on and covers both implementation and ongoing optimisation of network environments.
What you’ll do
- Design, configure, and deploy network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs)
- Maintain and support LAN/WAN environments, including patching and upgrades
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and resolve outages
- Manage IP addressing, VLANs, and routing protocols
- Implement and maintain network security measures and policies
- Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders
- Document network designs, standards, and operational processes
Tech stack / environment
- Routing & switching (BGP, OSPF, VLANs)
- TCP/IP, QoS, IPSec, 802.1q, 802.11
- Firewalls, VPNs, wireless networks
- Data centre and cloud-based network environments
What we’re looking for
- Strong experience with network infrastructure and hardware
- Hands-on experience configuring routers, switches, and firewalls
- Solid understanding of LAN/WAN and network protocols
- Experience with network security and performance optimisation
- Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
- Good documentation and communication skills
Nice to have
- Experience working in telecom environments
- Exposure to cloud networking and virtualised environments
